HUTCHINSON, KANSAS

The Spiritual Life Center at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility is a privately funded remodeling project designed to allow various community organizations to interact with inmates in an effort to meet their spiritual needs.  The assembly space seats over 150.  The platform is very open to allow for flexibility in programming and to assist with security concerns.  Classrooms are located at the back of the facility to accommodate a variety of activities.  Offices are located on a mezzanine level.  Viewing platforms have been provided near the top of the stairs on either side for security.  Stone veneer accents have been used to relate to the extensive use of limestone throughout the facility.
