Doug Allison of TEAM Architecture - LLC has been collaborating with K.B. Criss, Supt. of Schools at Dexter USD 471 and other administrative staff on the design for school security and functionality improvements for the district. The program calls for:

improved parking and bus loading area at the perimeter of the site.
remodeling the existing elementary school building.
a building addition to the elementary school building to include:
- permanent home for the pre-k and kindergarten classes inside a safe room designed to accommodate the entire student, faculty and staff population.
- administrative offices for the district.
- new entrance to serve as the campus entrance.
- connecting link to the high school building to secure the academic functions of the district.
remodeling the existing auditorium building

The bond election for this project will be held in November 2019. If you live in USD 471, get out and vote “YES” for these much needed improvements.
